  3. Fields are excluded from search by default
  4. Use Questions to route queries to your internal support email

Chrome-only:

  • Expand and pop out Spekit

    • Use the new Back and Next to easily go through a Topic or Search Results
      • Simply click into a Spek from a topic or search results and use the right and left arrows
  • Questions routing:
    • We have a new Questions button in the Chrome extension for users to ask questions about your Speks
    • Users will also be asked to provide feedback in Chrome if they react with “Confused” or “Not helpful” on a Spek
    • Questions routing: If asked from “generic” Questions button, will be sent to:
      • Your internal support email (Email us to configure this)
      • If you haven’t set an internal support email up, it will route to your connecting admin’s email
    • Questions routing: If asked from a specific Spek, will be sent to:
      • The Expert (if one exists)
      • Otherwise it will be sent to your internal support email (Email us to configure this)
      • If you haven’t set an internal support email up, it will route to your connecting admin’s email
  • Added a reminder banner if the user is not logged into Chrome and visits Salesforce
    • To encourage users to login to Spekit, if a user has the Spekit chrome extension installed but is not logged into Spekit, they will get a banner prompting them to login when they are in Salesforce
    • If they dismiss the banner it will not show up for the next 3 days, and then come back to remind them again.

App & Chrome

  • Spek Mode to make searching a breeze:
    • By default, search will now exclude Salesforce Field Speks, and all undefined Speks. Users can toggle these into search results on-demand using the toggle upon search
    • Admins and Experts: How do I document Field Speks then?
      • Use our new “Spek mode” to search for, find and document all Speks.
      • This view includes ALL SPEK TYPES, including Field Speks and undocumented Speks.
      • Use this when documenting fields from the Chrome extension / Salesforce views, or after importing a new object
  • Page Layouts to organize your documentation process
    • Resync your Spekit org and go into Filters to find standard Page Layouts.
    • You can use this to find a specific Page Layout to start documenting with
    • You can also use the “Not on any Page Layout” filter to find and hide fields that are not relevant for you to document on an object.
  • Enhancements:
    • Hide mode is now easier to find – it’s visible on wiki and dictionary views so that users can easily access and view their hidden Speks.
    • Related Speks to a Salesforce Object will now by default be sorted by Last Edited in order to show the most recently created or edited content up top.
    • By default the wiki is now sorted by Last Edited in Spekit date
    • In-app/in-chrome notification messages will now include the creator’s message so that people know WHAT has changed.
  • Fixes:
  • Right click to enable Spekit is now pulling up the chrome extension
  • If you create a topic with special characters in the label and add Speks to it, the Speks now appear in the topics page
  • Chrome sidebar navigation items: Reduced size to increase reading space
  • Chrome: Numbered lists are now rendering in popups

Chrome

Highlights: Visualforce Support and Spek-to-Spek link

  • Spek-to-Spek: Links to Spek will now open in the Chrome Extension To reduce context switching for users, any private Spekit share links you add to a Spek will now open right there for you users in the Chrome extension. For example, if you email or paste a Spekit share link, and the user has Spekit installed, the link will open up in the Spekit sidebar for them.
  • Send a notification and the related Spek will open up for them when they click the link to read in the email.
  • Use for creating table of contents
  • Use to reference and link one Spek to another
  • Use for linking together connected process Speks
Visualforce support:
  • Spekit now supports Salesforce Visualforce pages out of the box! So if you document Salesforce fields and Speks on Visualforce pages, the Spekit icons will show up in your favorite apps. Note: This is a beta functionality and we do not support object-level filtering of results for Visualforce pages.Other updates in Chrome v. 4.0.21
