Much like the years leading up to GDPR and the focused attention on compliance, these changes around AI have spurred a global focus on the need for greater oversight and control to protect customer, employee, and company data and interests.

Spekit’s security-first approach
Since day one, Spekit has prioritized building a secure product that protects customer data. We’ve invested heavily—twice the typical amount for a company our size and stage—in Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC).
Our rigorous security measures include regular white-box and black-box penetration testing, disaster recovery planning, and annual SOC2 audits. We continually evaluate and enhance our controls to ensure data is captured, transported, and stored securely.
We’ve designed our platform to give customers full control over how AI is used while avoiding the storage of sensitive data. Security is not just a priority—it’s embedded in everything we do. With that in mind, let me address three critical questions we frequently receive.
Does Spekit use customer data to build or tune models?
We don’t use your data to train AI models. Your data stays your data. Unlike other tools, Spekit does not use customer information to train or refine AI models. This ensures that your content and data remain secure and private.
How does Spekit leverage end-user context without storing sensitive company data?
Spekit’s power lies in combining the knowledge our customers input with the daily workflows of end users—a concept we call "Just-in-Time Enablement," our secret sauce. This innovative approach ensures users get the answers they need without compromising security.
For example, when a sales rep reviews a recorded call using their preferred call intelligence tool, Spekit’s browser extension detects the activity. It processes the call summary and delivers relevant content recommendations, all without storing the call summary long-term. This balance of usability and data security is core to our mission. If required, customers can easily configure their Spekit settings to anonymize call summaries before linking them to relevant content, ensuring data always stays protected.
How can we control what data Spekit can capture and process?
Customers have three ways to control which applications and data Spekit uses to support end users:
- Feature Configuration: Customers can enable features that align with their privacy and security standards. For instance, those with policies restricting AI usage can disable some or all AI functionalities. While enabling the full feature set delivers the best results, we recognize that some industries must prioritize risk management.
- Extension Control: Spekit’s browser extension can be configured to interact only with approved applications. Any applications customers don’t want the extension to access can be permanently disabled—ideal for industries with sensitive or regulated systems.
- Permission Enforcement: Spekit ensures users can access only the content they’re authorized to see. User and team permissions are consistently enforced across searches and AI recommendations, providing peace of mind and maintaining security.
