How to design your content strategy

Learn how to design your Spekit content strategy to maximize efficiency

How to map our your teams:

Teams determine what topics a user has access to, who they can send notifications to, and how granular analytics get. We recommend mapping out basic teams (Sales, Customer Support, etc.) and then customizing teams further, such as by region or segment.

Considerations for advanced teams:

  • Ownership: Will I have different subject matter experts for teams?
  • Content: Does our content vary dramatically by region?
  • Communication: Will I want to notify a subset of users on content changes?
  • Analytics: Do I care about the analytics of a particular region?

How to map out your experts:

Subject matter experts are users who have the ability to create content for a given team. These may include training partners, reps and agent, leadership, and more.

Considerations for experts:

  • Ownership: Who typically creates this type of content?
  • Expertise: Who do your teams typically go to with questions?
  • Bandwidth: Will they commit to adding content?

How to decide on your content organization structure:

In terms of organizing your content, you can leverage our topics. Topics allow you to organize your content in folders that users can search for and review during onboarding. You also have the option of adding custom fields to your content. Custom fields are text fields or picklists that you can add to the layout of any Spek to add searchable attributes to your content.

How to map out your key topics:

Once your content has been outlined, we recommend mapping out your key topics. Topics are used to organize your content and determine who can access the Speks within that topic.

Reordering content within Spekit:

Spekit has the ability to reorder your content in a given topic. This is helpful when you're thinking about onboarding your teams using Spekit content or if you want to break down long processes into bite-size pieces of information.

Using topics as Playbooks:

Playbooks can be used to combine content from multiple other topics related to a specific selling motion. Teams often make Playbooks by industry, product, or sales motion. Spekit has a template to help you get started with Playbooks. To access this template, reach our to your CSM.
